Allegations Shared on Social Media

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, posted a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

Police Reports Reportedly Not on File

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

Player's Prior Off-Field Troubles

Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.

On the field, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
