Palestinian-American Teenager Freed After Nine Months in Israel's Custody

An Palestinian-American teenager having endured nine months in imprisonment by Israel without charge gained freedom.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, during a family visit while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.

The US state department said it welcomed the news of Mohammed's release.

Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.

According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues contracted in captivity.

Via family representatives, the youth's uncle expressed the family's "immense relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we're concentrating on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare he needs after experiencing Israel's abuse and brutal treatment over several months."

American authorities said it would continue to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

{"US government authorities has no higher priority than the safety and security of US citizens"," officials stated.

Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to US authorities and President Donald Trump, urging greater action to release him.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop based in Tampa, previously said his son only confessed regarding stone throwing because the soldiers beat him.

He had not seen nor direct contact since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively what had happened to him via legal paperwork.

The teenager remained lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.

It is also home to grown detainees, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences and homicide.

An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Many have never been charged along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, document cases involving physical abuse and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials was beaten to death by Israeli settlers amid clashes during summer.

Initially, military authorities reported authorities were looking into information regarding a civilian had died.
